Mr Gavin Schaller is a hand & wrist orthopaedic consultant based in Hertfordshire and London. His NHS practice is based in West Hertfordshire NHS Teaching Trust. Privately Mr Schaller runs clinics and operates from Spire Bushey Hospital, Pinehill Hospital & One Hatfield Hospital.
He underwent his orthopaedic and trauma training in London, on the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital rotation. Following this, Mr Schaller went on to sub-specialise in hand & wrist surgery, undertaking dual fellowship training in both orthopaedic and plastic hand surgery. He has been awarded the European Diploma in Hand Surgery and is a member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH).
Mr Schaller treats the full spectrum of hand and wrist problems from trauma and sports injuries through to arthritis, Dupuytren’s disease and nerve compressions.
Emphasis is placed on ensuring a clear patient understanding of diagnosis, investigation and treatment options in clinic. Shared decision making and working closely with hand therapists ensures the best outcomes whether non-operative treatments or surgical solutions are undertaken.
